SifrBolt Documentation
Documentation to understand the SifrBolt platform and use it effectively.
Why Image IQ
Hero imagery sells the story, but bloated assets wreck conversion. Image IQ rewrites your markup, preps the right formats, and lets the edge worker stream optimized assets before the browser even finishes parsing HTML.
Plan check
Included with Surge plans and above. Confirm image_iq is enabled in your manifest before you begin.
Activation Steps
- Toggle Image IQ in the console for your pilot tenant.
- Publish a canary page with hero imagery and preview it via the SifrBolt console link.
- Check the markup inspector—images should now render inside
<picture>elements with responsivesrcsetvalues.
Early Hints Behavior
- The edge worker reads signed rulepacks and emits HTTP/103 hints for the pre-computed image variants.
- Browsers start fetching hero assets immediately, improving perceived load time on mobile.
- Art direction remains intact because picture sources are generated from the original asset.
Proof & Metrics
Verification
- Run a Lighthouse test before and after activation to confirm improved Largest Contentful Paint.
- Download the signed rulepack
image-iq-variant-2025-01.jsonfrom the Trust Center and verify it with the CLI (e.g.,bunx @sifrbolt/verify rulepack --file image-iq-variant-2025-01.json). - Attach the verification output and metrics to your change record.
Troubleshooting
- If certain assets must stay untouched (e.g., ads), exclude them using the console’s asset allow/deny controls.
- Hosts without AVIF/WebP automatically fall back to the strongest supported format—no manual tweaks required.
- Rollback is instant: disable the flag and cached hints expire automatically.
